Nestled in the foothills, the Sutherland Ranch is conveniently located 15 minutes south of Calgary, AB. Ranch owners, Mark and Dina, feel fortunate to live where they do and to be able to live a life with horses. They would love to take you on a tour of the ranch and introduce you to their equine athletes. Visit the Sutherland Ranch and experience first-hand what it is like to take care of 50 horses on a daily basis. Work alongside the Sutherland Crew feeding horses, bedding stalls and brushing the beautiful thoroughbred athletes. For six months of the year the Sutherland's are at their ranch in Okotoks working with their equine athletes. This involves hooking them up for daily practice runs around the exercise track. If you like to experience the extreme this is for you. Jump in the wagon and feel the power of the horses, the wind in your face and even the odd dirt lump hit your chest. the ultimate
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hold the lines of four charging thoroughbreds? This is the experience for you. Spend some time with one of the Sutherland boys and learn how to drive. That is right; by the time you are done you will be in control of the wagon. This experience is a multi-day offering that can be spread out or booked in a block of time. On tour
Each year the Sutherland's compete on the World Professional Chuckwagon Association tour. For the first time, they are offering experiences while on the chuckwagon trail. The tour schedule is as follows:
